Theatre

SIS offers Theater to grades I-X.

Theatre teaches essential soft skills that foster empathy and effective interactions with others, aiding in human development regardless of the career path one chooses to pursue. Theater is the most comprehensive art form, enveloping all other forms of art, including music, dance, fine art, film, and visual art.

Theatre in Education is a concept that provides opportunities for learners to learn difficult and abstract concepts through fun.

Innovation and Technology

Access to digital content is moderated and mediated by adults in the school. Parents are advised to collaborate with the learners in the usage of technology. Learners are encouraged to access and engage with relevant digital material that complements and supplements the content in their curriculum, syllabus, textbooks, and other materials they are typically unable to access in their physical environment. Learners use ICT to deepen understanding, learn at their own pace, engage with additional practice, and do self-assessments. ICT is of immense value in discovering and exploring new areas and topics and innovating. Learners and teachers utilize technologies such as peer forums, Google Classrooms, and other tools either to learn, explore, apply, self and peer assess, and innovate. The learners learn ethical use of technology and also learn about cyber-safety and keeping themselves safe.

Clubs

Learners are given a choice to choose the clubs of their interest. The clubs focus on learning new skills, application of the skills, and learning to work collaboratively.

Laboratories

Learners at Bishop Scott School are actively engaged with the world around them through a number of learning experiences. Laboratories are one of the platforms through which learners are stimulated and encouraged to ask questions, hypothesize, observe, test, find evidence, collect data, analyze, modify conclusions, communicate, and re-question.

Exploration and discovery does not happen only in laboratories at Bishop Scott School.

Learners are exposed to varied settings — the laboratory, classroom, field, music and dance rooms, etc to explore the interconnectedness of the world around them. Learners are involved in peer and collaborative learning using scientific and mathematical vocabulary to communicate their understanding, ideas, and observations. Learning through experimentation and research enables the development of values of collaboration, sensitivity, empathy, equality of opportunities, and respect for diversity.
